Review: P.S. I Still Love You

P.S. I Still Love You P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I'm so glad that I finally read this. I'm actually sad I didn't read it sooner. Even though it had been 2 years since I read the 1st book "To All the Boy's I've Loved Before" It was easy to get right back into this story once I started reading it. You get put back into Laura Jean's life and pretty much picks up right where it left off. I have to say this was a great read, I literary laughed out loud more than a few times. This was a page turner for me, very easy to read and hard to put down. I love Jenny Han's writing and I can't wait to finish this trilogy.

Review: The Cellar

The Cellar The Cellar by Minette Walters
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is my 1st time reading a Minette Walters book. I did this via audiobook and what a crazy roller coaster read. Man this got my attention from the very beginning and just when I thought it couldn't get any crazier it did. I have to say there were a few times it was kind of hard to listen to due to the subject matter, this author did not hold back. I was not expecting the book to end the way it did. Which doesn't bother me, it actually left me with my mind wondering what was going to happen next and I like that.

Review: Sharkman

Sharkman Sharkman by Steve Alten
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

After reading Steve Alten 's book Meg I knew this book had to be interesting....How could it not be With a title like Sharkman....right?!?! So this seems to be one of those books you are going to like or you won't. Now I am not one to read reviews before reading the book. I usually will take a quick look at them after I read the book. Now when I was going through a few a of the low scoring reviews and read why they didn't like it. It just seemed like nick picking at things that should not make you hate a book IMO. Now for me, I found this book to very entertaining and fast paced. Kwan just made me laugh with his teenage boy thoughts and ways but he also made me feel for him. I loved how he was being honest about himself and how he talked about his injuries, so you could understand how It could be if you had a disability or injury like his. It made you understand more, at least it did for me. Now a lot goes on in this book for it being under 300 pages but I still think it worked out fine. I am not one who needs lots of filler and thank goodness it didn't.

Review: Illuminae

Illuminae Illuminae by Amie Kaufman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I had heard all about this book when it came out and started to gain a lot of popularity all over social media. And it seemed like it would be a fun read but I waited awhile before buying it. And when I bought the book but it sat on my bookshelf for some time before I finally thought I would be in the mood to read it. And it definitely was the right time. I can see why some people were not able to get into it because of it's format. It is told through hacked emails, schematics, military files, IM's, medical reports, and interviews. So because of that it did take me about 60 pages to get use to it but after that the book was a breeze to read through. It took me on a rollercoaster of emotions. It was a great read, it had a little bit of everything. So if you are a fan of adventure, sci-fi, action, friendship, space, the unknown, AI, and little romance then this will be the book for you. I will definitely continue on and finish this series.

Review: The Vampire Stalker

The Vampire Stalker The Vampire Stalker by Allison van Diepen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this book even at my age. If I am honest I did feel like maybe I was too old to read a book like this. But then I told myself if it is something I might enjoy then to go for it, and I did. I have no regrets. YA is what truly got me to love reading and still read it today. For me it just a fresh and new take on vampires/vampire hunters. IMO It made me laugh at times and I love when characters in books have a love for reading in them. This was a easy, fast and fun read for me.

Review: Werewolf Cop

Werewolf Cop Werewolf Cop by Andrew Klavan
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I read this via audiobook it was a read that seemed interesting enough to me. And it was, it didn't blow me out of this world but it still was entertaining for me and kept my attention. It has a little bit of everything a detective/paranormal/mystery/thriller/blackmail rolled into one. I do kind of feel like it is just one of those books for entertainment not something you will get a life lesson from other than don't keep secrets from your spouse. ;)
