I knew I was going to read this series but I was hoping to finish TOG series first but that didn't happen. I was seeing and reading too many post on IG about this series since the current book was out and people were going crazy over it. So I picked this book up at half price books and started to read it. This is definitely a high fantasy read with faeries and a magical kingdom. You have a wall that separates humans from the faerie world were all kinds of twists and turns happen. You easily get sucked into this magical kingdom and it's characters, if you are one who loves to read fantasy books. I also would say is that I did not see this book as a retelling, at least not for me. And although this is a YA genre just beware there are some pretty dark parts in a violent and in a sexual way so I would say use caution if you are not a fan of stuff like that. I am currently working on the 2nd book and I already can't wait to read the 3rd book.
